Team Manager Training

Attention Team Managers! You can now attend Basic Team Manager training from the comfort of your home!

This is recommended for experienced Team Managers as a great refresher course, or in addition to an in-person Team Manager training session. Completion of this course satisfies the 2011-12 training requirement.

Southern Region News

Welcome to the Southern Region!

Corvallis, Cheldelin Middle School Library, 6:00-10:00 p.m. Bring a sack supper or drink if you like. Bring your challenge if you have it. Contact Karen Anderson for more information ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it cell phone, 541-760-1546).

  • THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17

Pleasant Hill Elementary Library, 6:00-9:30. Bring your challenge material if you have received it.  And bring a sack supper if you wish (drinks and dessert will be provided). BE SURE TO CONTACT JOAN HLADKY TO RESERVE A SPACE ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 541-746-0135) TRAINING CAN BE CANCELLED IF NO ONE REGISTERS!!!

Be sure to print out your certificate to send in with your January registration. If this doesn't work for you, try www.diuniversity.org/accessCode.aspxI also found their tech people very helpful (my e-mail address was not accepted at first).  This address has no connection with ShopDI.
  • OR SCHEDULE YOUR OWN TRAINING

If these locations are not possible for you, contact the Regional Director to see if you can set up a local training, Joan Hladky ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).

Which training saves the $25?  Either online or hands-on or both.

ADVANTAGES OF TRAINING

Participating in training greatly facilitates a Team Manager's understanding of Destination ImagiNation.  This is a continual growth process as you continue in this role.

Online training is an excellent review of the DI program, but it goes rather rapidly and has a lot of information to absorb for a new Team Manager.  You can, however, take it as many times as you need in order to pass the test at 90% or better.  Be sure to print the certificate after you have passed the test.

Hands on training is an extension of the on-line training and also offers additional materials not covered in the on-line training or in this year's Road Map for Managers (replacing the Team Managers' Guide in the material sent to you with your membership in the past).

This year's Road Map for Team Managers has embedded many suggested forms for generating and focusing ideas.  Several favorites are not included, but will be offered at the Hands-on training. You will also discover where to find the embedded forms.  It is also the same Road Map available on-line last year so you need additional Instant Challenges if you used the Road Map last year and have the same students back.   The Road Map is an excellent step-by-step guide for first time Team Managers.
