11/11/11
- SKILLS FAIR and BASIC TEAM MANAGER TRAINING: November 19, 2011 from 10 am to 1:30 pm at REX PUTNAM HS (4950 SE Roethe Road in Milwaukie). Cost is $35 per team ($38 if paid by PayPal) and the registration form link is on the Home page of this website.
- REGIONAL TOURNAMENT: March 3, 2012 (all day) at REYNOLDS HS (1698 SW Cherry Park Road in Troutdale). More information to come, but this will be a wonderful site for all performance venues.
- BASIC TEAM MANAGER TRAINING. The following events are currently scheduled. There is no cost, but please let me know you plan to attend, so I have enough materials for you!:
To meet the needs of new teams forming, 1 additional training may be scheduled in SE Portland and perhaps we will also need a session in Hillsboro. These dates will depend on need.
- INSTANT CHALLENGE NIGHTS: Two events will be scheduled for late January - one on the east side of the Willamette and one on the west side.
- Getting a call from a parent group is easy to schedule because a meeting location, time, and date are already set up. We just need to know how many parents to expect and how much time we have to present information. (We would like 30 min but realize meeting agendas don't always allow for this much time.)
- If you are a parent who has heard about DI and you are interested but you want other parents at your school to also participate, what do you do? If you want someone to come to your school and talk about the program, we also do this all the time. It helps if you talk with the principal and give me a little introduction ahead of time. Then I call the principal and schedule a time and ask that the school include information in a newsletter or online news to publicize the meeting. Sometimes we get a big crowd and other nights just a handful of people.
- Occasionally a classroom teacher will call and ask me to have a meeting for parents of his or her students. So that information night might be just for 4th grade parents, or the drama and speech/debate students and their parents at the high school, or TAG students in a district. We can do that!
